Palé Hall is a Victorian country house near Llandderfel, a few miles from Bala, built in 1871 for the railway engineer Henry Robertson to a design by the Shrewsbury architect Samuel Pountney Smith. Originally holding 22 bedrooms for Robertson's family and staff, the building now operates as a single-site hotel with a restaurant named after its first owner and grounds that run down towards the River Dee. Guests can walk the surrounding parkland, which includes mature specimen trees planted in the Victorian period.
