Pentower is a house built in 1898 for a local politician, set on Tower Hill above Fishguard with views over the harbour. For a period it was the home of broadcaster and war correspondent Wynford Vaughan-Thomas. It has operated as a bed and breakfast for more than a decade, offering three spacious guest bedrooms rather than a larger hotel-style operation, run as a single independent property rather than part of any group. The scale keeps it personal, with breakfast served to a small number of guests each morning rather than a full dining room turning tables. Its position on high ground gives most rooms a view down over Fishguard harbour and the Lower Town, a different outlook from the seafront guest houses closer to the ferry terminal.
