Gwaun Valley Brewery has operated from Kilkiffeth Farm at Pontfaen, five miles up the valley from Fishguard, since 2009, when the site's traditional microbrewery and granary taproom were first built. Homebrewer Nigel Smith took over the brewing side in 2019, when the founding family stepped back to concentrate on farming, and has since added his own recipes to the core range while keeping the brewery's use of water drawn from its own well. Ales have picked up regional Society of Independent Brewers medals in recent years, spanning porters, pales, blondes and wheat beers, sold in bottle and cask from the taproom. The brewery hosts live acoustic music on the last Saturday of each month and keeps an on-site campsite. It opens seven days a week, ten until six, with evening visits available by request.
