PJ's SurfShop

PJ's Surf Shop has traded from Wellpark in Llangennith since 1979, opposite the King's Head pub and a short walk from the beach that made the village a British surfing centre. It was built up by Pete Jones, a former European, British and Welsh surfing champion, and is now run alongside his son James, himself a former Welsh and British Junior Champion. The shop sells and hires surfboards, wetsuits and bodyboards, stocking Quicksilver, Billabong, Reef and Sub Zero wetsuit lines, and its staff give tide and swell advice as readily as they sell gear. Opening hours shift with the surf season, longer through summer and shorter over winter, so calling ahead in the off season is worthwhile. The shop remains a family business spanning two generations of competitive surfers.
