Rising TideCafe

Rising Tide Cafe opened at 324 Portobello High Street in late February 2025, registered as Rising Tide Cafe Limited (Companies House SC654458). It is run by a husband-and-wife team together with their three children and a small hired staff, serving all-day breakfasts, grazing boards and seasonal dishes built around ingredients bought from independent producers and suppliers. The cafe holds a license, so its seasonal food menu is paired with wine and beer options rather than coffee and cake alone. Its name and stated motto, 'a rising tide lifts all boats', point to a deliberately community-facing approach on Portobello's high street, among the seafront cafes and shops. Since opening it has become a regular stop for local residents rather than only summer visitors to the beach. Opening hours run daily: Monday to Thursday and Sunday from ten until four, Friday and Saturday from nine until four.
