Rock-a-Nore Fisheries

Albert and Lily Elliott founded the fishmongery on Rock-a-Nore Road more than fifty years ago, and their son Sonny runs it now with his wife Jackie on the preserves and daughter Daisy in the trade — three generations working opposite the tall black net shops and Europe's largest beach-launched fishing fleet, which is to say the fish crosses a road, not a country. The smokehouse out back does the signature work. A second counter opened up the coast in St Leonards in 2022, disclosed here; the Old Town original remains the source, in every sense the word will carry.
