Electric Palace is a single-screen independent cinema on the High Street in Hastings Old Town, founded in 2002 and run as a community interest company. The cinema has a licensed bar and around fifty seats, and the programme mixes new independent and arthouse releases with classic film, world cinema, work by local filmmakers and a regular B-movie night. Accessible screenings, including subtitled and relaxed showings, run alongside the main programme. The cinema receives no external subsidy and covers its costs through ticket and bar sales, supported by a membership scheme and a team of volunteers who help run screenings. It hosts occasional talks and themed events tied to its programming and can be hired for private screenings and functions. As one of the few single-screen cinemas left on the Sussex coast, it remains a fixture of Hastings Old Town's cultural scene alongside the town's galleries and theatres.
