The Stag Inn stands at the end of Bridge Street in Dolgellau, in a Grade II listed building beside the Marian car park. Formerly tied to the Marstons group, it now trades as a freehouse under new ownership registered in November 2025, run day-to-day by Mike and Paulina, and pours two rotating guest ales plus a real cider rather than a fixed brewery list. Food centres on pizzas made in a wood-fired oven, with lunchtime Sunday roasts also served, and the pub keeps a real fire and two wood-burning stoves for the colder months alongside a beer garden and an upstairs function room known as the Doe Room, which holds up to 40 people. It is dog-friendly and open every day, Monday to Thursday afternoons into the evening and from midday at weekends, and is listed in CAMRA's Gwynedd a Môn branch guide.
