Heulwen Guest House has been run by Heulwen and Andy Watts since they established it in 1985 in Llanfachreth, a small village outside Dolgellau on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park. The four-star guest house occupies a south-facing bungalow set in its own landscaped garden, with views across surrounding forest and hills, and offers a small number of ensuite rooms each fitted with a television, hairdryer and hot drinks tray. Breakfast is served to guests each morning before they head out onto the forest walks, hill paths, fishing waters and mountain-biking trails that surround the village. The guest house has operated as a single, family-run property for four decades, with bookings taken directly by phone or through its own website rather than through a wider hotel group.
