The Blackheath Pottery operates from a converted stable courtyard at Blackheath House, a Georgian property on the Killeague Road between Coleraine and Garvagh. Potter Babs Belshaw throws functional stoneware, from mugs and bowls to larger serving pieces, in a workshop divided from the adjoining shop by a glass wall so visitors can watch pots being made. The shop sells finished pieces directly, and pottery classes are run on site for beginners and more experienced throwers, taught in small groups around the wheel. The setting retains original stonework and outbuildings from the historic estate, giving the pottery a rural, working feel distinct from a gallery-style retail space. It draws both passing visitors touring the Bann valley and regular class attendees from Coleraine and the surrounding villages. Opening days are limited outside the main season, and classes are booked in advance.
