Bakery and cake shop at Mackie's Corner in Sunderland city centre, run by husband-and-wife team Tommy and Laura Graham. Laura began baking after making her own five-tier wedding cake in 2014, going on to run a mobile cake business, Sweet Occasions, from a converted vintage horsebox that toured markets and a summer pitch at Seaburn beach. The couple later took a permanent unit at the redeveloped Mackie's Corner, becoming one of the first businesses to open as the historic 1845 building returned to use. The shop produces traybakes, cakes, macarons and afternoon teas, and has been shortlisted in a national UK's Favourite Local Business competition sponsored by Miconex. It trades as a small-scale, family-run operation rather than a chain outlet.
