Thinford Nurseries

Thinford Nurseries is a family-owned and run nursery set in arable land at Thinford, between Spennymoor and Ferryhill in central County Durham and a short drive from the A1. It is a growing nursery rather than a bought-in garden centre: staff raise in excess of 75,000 bedding plants a year from seed and seedlings, filling the greenhouses with colour from March onwards. Beyond bedding, baskets and containers, the stock takes in ornamental trees, shrubs, roses, herbaceous perennials and conifers at various stages of growth, much of it propagated on site across the holding's 35 acres. The nursery serves gardeners across the county from its single site and keeps prices pitched at the everyday grower.
