Dara and Ciara opened Ursa Minor in Ballycastle in 2014 and have made it one of the north coast's serious bakeries — naturally leavened sourdough, slow-fermented pastries, everything on a long clock. It works as a bakehouse and a café together on Ann Street, and the bread turns up on the best tables around the coast, Babushka in Portrush among them. It is a member of Real Bread Ireland and one of only a handful of UK Économusée sites, which recognise living crafts kept open to visitors. In a town at the end of the road to the Glens, it is a reason to make the trip in its own right — the kind of bakery a place is lucky to have.
