Adam Robertson, James Heffron and Rich White started Verdant in 2014 as homebrewers gone professional, and the three of them still control the company — a 2018 crowdfunding round brought in some two thousand small shareholders without moving the founders from the register. The brewery, which moved from Falmouth to the Kernick estate at Penryn in 2020, built its name on hazy, hop-forward, US-leaning beers; the taproom alongside runs sixteen keg and four cask lines with Neapolitan pizza from a wood oven, no bookings taken. In Falmouth proper their Seafood Bar on Quay Street pairs eight Verdant lines with small plates of local seafood, and the brewery runs pubs at St Agnes and Flushing besides.
