Tony Resta opened Yield on Newington Green in 2015, drawing on an Italian upbringing that included working in a deli and picking grapes at his uncle's osteria in southern Italy. The shop deals only in natural, biodynamic and organic wine, sourced partly through Neal's Yard Dairy and Les Caves de Pyrene, alongside cured meats, artisan cheese and baked goods. Customers can drink in or buy bottles and bag-in-box refills to take away. Resta opened a second shop, Yield N1 in Islington, in February 2021, initially wine-only before adding seating as trade developed. He has weighed opening further sites but points to staff recruitment and Brexit-related import costs as obstacles to growing further.
