Arden Country House was built in 2001 on farmland at Belsyde, around two miles outside Linlithgow, and has taken bed and breakfast guests since 2002 under owners John and Beth. The house has three ensuite guest rooms, named Galloway, Morrison and Stewart, and sits within a working farm setting rather than the town centre, with views over the surrounding countryside. Beth cooks breakfast using local and seasonal ingredients, including a traditional cooked Scottish breakfast, and the house has held a five-star grading from tourism assessors. Self-catering accommodation is also offered on the property alongside the bed and breakfast rooms. The house is around sixteen miles from Edinburgh and close to Linlithgow Palace, Blackness Castle and the Falkirk Wheel, making it a base for exploring those sites rather than a hotel in its own right. Arden Country House is run directly by its owners rather than as part of a hotel group, with rooms bookable through its own website.
