Arvon Ale House occupies a former shop on Temple Street in Llandrindod Wells, and was the first micropub to open in Powys, in November 2014. It changed hands in early 2021 and reopened on its seventh anniversary under new ownership, keeping the same format: six changing beers with no permanent house ale, typically including something from Wye Valley Brewery and a rotating dark beer, alongside up to eight real ciders, some finished with fruit flavourings. The pub is family-friendly and dog-friendly, keeps board games behind the bar, and maintains a deliberately quiet atmosphere. It won Wales Pub of the Year and Wales Cider Pub of the Year in 2016. Opening hours run Wednesday to Sunday only, shut on Mondays and Tuesdays, and it sits close enough to Llandrindod's railway station to catch passengers on their way through.
