Bear +Wolf

Matthew Neel opened Bear + Wolf on Campdale Road in 2014 after finding no local cafe worked for a parent with a toddler in tow. The fix pairs Ozone coffee with a dedicated play area, the Cubroom, stocked with toys so adults can actually sit down. Stripped-back furniture and industrial lighting keep the room practical, and a buggy park by the entrance clears the usual bottleneck. The kitchen runs brunch through the week, including waffles, halloumi rolls and a children's menu, with weekend specials drawing families who stay for a couple of hours rather than grabbing a takeaway. Weekday mornings bring a mix of parents and people working from laptops. The cafe remains independently run from its original single site in Tufnell Park, coffee and a place for children to play still the two fixed points.
