Christopher's British Bistro operates from the front of The Peel Aldergate, a single-site guest house occupying a row of late eighteenth-century buildings on Aldergate in the centre of Tamworth. The business is run by husband and wife Chris and Pauline Gill, who took on the historic property almost twenty years ago and named the restaurant after their son. Five years ago the bistro was moved into a purpose-fitted room at the front of the site, where it now serves British dishes built around seasonal produce, alongside a cocktail list and a private dining room. Tamworth Castle and the town's Assembly Rooms both stand a short walk away. The Gills, who bring more than forty years of combined hospitality experience, now run the business alongside their children Christopher and Sarah.
