Cranbrook Interiors has run from Forest Road in Ascot since 1995, making curtains, pelmets, roman blinds and soft furnishings by hand for local and regional clients. Owner Karen Sumner and her team also reupholster sofas, armchairs, dining chairs, chaise longues, footstools and window seats, working with fabric houses such as Colefax & Fowler, GP & J Baker and Mulberry. Alongside commissioned work, the workshop runs practical courses in curtain-making, roman blinds and upholstery for people wanting to learn the trade themselves. Everything is produced at the Ascot premises rather than outsourced, with jobs ranging from a single reupholstered chair to a full soft-furnishing scheme for a house. The business has traded from the same address for three decades, taking on work across Berkshire, Surrey and London.
