Davies Jewellers occupies a shop at 3 High Street in Menai Bridge, close to the western end of the town's run of independents. The business was incorporated in 1999 and remains a single-site, family-owned jeweller rather than part of any chain. Alongside the retail counter of watches, rings and gold and silver pieces, it keeps a bench workshop on the premises where repairs, resizing, restringing and bespoke commissions are carried out by hand. That in-house workshop is the main distinction from catalogue jewellers: customers can have engagement and wedding rings made to a design, or older pieces reworked, without the goods leaving the shop. Davies belongs to the Company of Master Jewellers, an independent-trade buying group, which accounts for some of the branded stock. The shop sits a short walk from the Menai Suspension Bridge and the town's market square.
