Ivor and Susie Dunkerton began pressing organic cider in Herefordshire in 1980; their son Julian — co-founder of Superdry — took control of the family firm in 2014 and moved it to Dowdeswell Park on Cheltenham's eastern edge, where the cidery now anchors a taproom open eleven to eleven every day of the week, ringed by seven resident independent food vendors, with a farm shop alongside. Ownership sits in a family holding company and the cider stays organic, as it has since 1980. Live music and silent discos fill the yard on summer nights, which is not how Herefordshire would have put it, but the pressing is the same.
