Elgin Gallery occupies a shopfront on South Street in the Moray county town, run by proprietor Andrew Henderson. It combines a picture-framing workshop with a commercial gallery, selling original paintings, limited-edition prints and cards from artists working in Moray and across Scotland. Henderson also offers bespoke mounting and framing, fine-art printing and photo restoration, and describes the business as the only dedicated gallery and framing service in the town. Its catchment stretches from Banff in the east to Nairn in the west and south towards Aviemore, drawing customers who want local landscape work framed to order. The gallery has traded for well over a decade from the same premises and is independently owned. Henderson has spoken publicly about eventually retiring and passing the business on, but it continues to operate.
