Ffa Da roasts speciality coffee in small batches from a modest unit in Llandanwg, on the coast near Harlech, and has traded since 2019. Its founder left a career teaching science to pursue a fascination with the craft behind the counter, building a roastery around six core blends carrying Welsh names, among them Jiw Jiw, Bore Da and Halibalŵ. Beans arrive from Brazil, Peru and Rwanda and are roasted to order rather than held in stock, with customers collecting bags directly from the roastery or having them posted out. A second collection point operates from Caffi Castell in Harlech, where a small stock of retail bags sits beside barista-served coffee. There is no shop counter to sit at in Llandanwg itself, only the smell of roasting beans and pre-ordered bags awaiting collection.
