Hobsons Brewery was founded in 1993 by Nick Davis and his father Jim, initially working from a former sawmill before relocating in 1995 to Newhouse Farm on the Tenbury road outside Cleobury Mortimer, where the brewery remains today. Beers are brewed using Maris Otter malting barley and, for the majority of recipes, hops grown in British hopyards, together with a house yeast strain unique to the brewery. The core range includes Best Bitter, Town Crier and Twisted Spire, brewed alongside seasonal and one-off beers in cask, keg and bottle. A wind turbine on site generates part of the electricity used in production. Visitors can book a brew day experience, and beer is sold direct from the brewery shop as well as through an online store with UK-wide delivery. A taproom on site is open to visitors.
