Bob McCoubrey opened Mourne Seafood Bar in 2005 on the ground floor of his own house on Dundrum's main street, having spent years running an oyster farm on Carlingford Lough. The restaurant still works those shellfish beds, and buys its fish from the nearby ports of Kilkeel and Annalong, so the oysters and mussels on the table have a short and known journey to it. It has since expanded — the Dundrum room recently gained forty covers — and spawned a busy Belfast sibling, but this is the original, sat between the Mournes and Dundrum Bay. Open Thursday to Sunday. Book ahead.
