Newark Bookshop

Paul Walters opened Newark Bookshop at 12 Queens Head Court, a narrow passage off the market place in Newark's town centre, stocking a curated range of fiction and non-fiction rather than attempting to hold everything in print. Shelves favour new releases, local history and children's books, with staff recommendations written on cards tucked among the stock. The shop hosts author events and takes orders for local schools, and customers can request titles not held in store for collection within a few days. Newark Bookshop also trades through Bookshop.org, directing a share of online sales back to independent shops. Open Tuesday to Friday 9am to 4pm and Saturday 9am to 5pm, closed Sunday and Monday, the shop sits a short walk from Newark Castle and the Buttermarket.
