Nice Stuff is an independent gift shop at 141 Bruntsfield Place, selling cards, jewellery, scarves, handbags, candles, soaps and homewares such as vases and candle holders. It was founded by Jill Brown, who left a career in commercial property to open the shop on Broughton Street in 2015 before relocating to Bruntsfield Place in 2018. The stock is curated rather than wholesale-heavy, aimed at giving customers gifts they are less likely to find in larger shops, and much of it is sourced from small UK makers. The shop runs private after-hours shopping evenings for groups of friends, family or colleagues, with a discount on purchases made during the session. Nice Stuff is open Monday to Saturday from 11am to 5:30pm and on Sunday from noon to 5pm, and remains a single shop rather than part of a wider retail chain.
