Salty DogCafe

Salty Dog Cafe opened on Lochnell Street in Lochgilphead in December 2017, run by Eilidh Thomsen and a small team. The kitchen makes its cakes, tray bakes and soups on site each day, alongside toasties, filled rolls and daily specials built around local produce where it is available. Gluten-free and vegan options are offered alongside the standard menu. Dogs are welcome inside, in keeping with the café's name, and the room is small enough that regulars and visitors tend to share tables at busy times. The café draws on Thomsen's background in hospitality, built up before she opened her own business in the town. It sits within walking distance of Lochgilphead's Argyll Street shops.
