Secretts traces back to 1908, when Frederick Augustus Secrett began growing vegetables for market; the family moved the business to Hurst Farm in Milford in 1937 and opened the farm shop itself in 1979, inside a row of converted stables. Charles Secrett now runs the operation with his wife, Nicola, who oversees sales, and their son Greg, who manages the farm. The shop's cheese counter sits alongside Black Barn, its own butchery selling rare-breed and free-range meat, and Eliza's Tearoom, which serves meals and cake through the day. Shelves carry ingredients from small independent producers alongside the farm's own vegetables and salad leaves, and pick-your-own fields open through the summer for strawberries, raspberries, gooseberries, plums and rhubarb. A monthly farmers' market and a fair-trade gift shop round out the site on Chapel Lane.
