John and Margaret Thompson began farming at Fenrose Farm in Isleham in the early 1970s, rearing cattle, sheep, goats and pigs on land a few miles outside Ely. The butcher's shop opened in 2005, selling meat from animals born and reared on the farm with full traceability back to the field. Their rare-breed pork, sold as Isleham Blue Pork, comes from Saddleback and Welsh or Large White pigs and has held a Great Taste two-star award for its shoulder cuts. A kitchen behind the counter turns off-cuts into pork pies, sausage rolls and scotch eggs made on site. The shop was a regional finalist in the National Pig Awards and won gold in the SME Ely Retail Business of the Year in 2024.
