The Archway Gallery occupies 7 Union Street in Lochgilphead, combining an exhibition space with a working framing service and an art materials counter. The gallery shows ceramics, sculpture, jewellery and prints alongside a rotating hang of paintings from a roster of Scottish artists, including a dedicated section for landscape painter John Lowrie Morrison. Represented artists include Colin Christie, Caroline Hunter, Lynn McGregor, Mogs Mellor and Jane Walker, with work ranging from Hebridean coastal scenes to abstract studies. Staff carry out bespoke picture framing on the premises, a service used both by visitors buying gallery pieces and by local customers framing their own work or photographs. The shop also sells art materials for practising painters. As one of the few dedicated gallery spaces in mid-Argyll, it gives artists working in the area an outlet without having to sell through dealers in Glasgow or Edinburgh. The gallery is independently owned and trades from this single Union Street address.
