The RecordShop

The Record Shop has traded on Hill Avenue in Amersham-on-the-Hill since 2005, combining a secondhand and new vinyl business with a working guitar shop. Racks hold several thousand LPs, singles and CDs across rock, jazz, soul and classical, with a far larger stock rotated through from the back, and the shop buys in collections and individual records from the public. The other half of the floor is given over to instruments: electric and acoustic guitars, ukuleles, amplifiers, leads and accessories, spanning beginner models to professional Gibson and Fender ranges. It is an independent, single-site operation run by staff who play, functioning as much as a browsing and advice space as a retailer. Gift cards, part-exchange and equipment purchases round out a shop that has kept physical music and music-making going in the town for two decades.
