Thornhill Farm Shop sits on the northern edge of Cardiff between Rhiwbina and Llanishen, opened in 2006 by the family who farm the surrounding land. The shop sells home-produced and locally sourced meat from an onsite butchery, along with fruit and vegetables grown on the farm, preserves, pickles and baked goods. Attached is Antlers Coffee Shop, serving cake and light lunches with a view across the city towards the Severn estuary. Beside the buildings, a pets paddock keeps pigs, donkeys, ducks, goats and sheep that visitors can walk round free of charge before or after shopping. The butchery counter closes on Mondays, when only pre-packed meat is available. The site draws a mix of dog walkers, families and regular shoppers stocking up on Welsh produce. Parking is free and located directly outside.
