Fraser Campbell has run the Trust Inn for eleven years, one of two Kilbarchan pubs he owns and operates in the village where he has lived most of his life. The single-roomed bar sits in the middle of a conservation village and keeps old photographs of Kilbarchan on its walls, alongside a bar meal menu served at weekend lunchtimes and every evening. Campbell has used the pub as a base for charity fundraising and hosts Kilbarchan Choir there among other regular local groups, treating it as a community room as much as a bar. Live music and quiz nights run alongside sport on the television, and children are welcome in the evening until 8pm if dining with family. Cask ale is not a fixture here; the draw is the room itself and its place at the centre of village life.
