Bobbins

Bobbins occupies a small shopfront at 25 Steeple Street in Kilbarchan, close to the National Trust for Scotland's Weaver's Cottage and the village's Steeple landmark. The café serves homemade soup made daily, sandwiches made to order and handcrafted cakes, alongside a retail corner selling greetings cards, small crafts and paintings by local artists, giving the shop a dual role as café and outlet for local makers. The café is small, with limited seating, and regulars note that booking ahead is worthwhile at busier times. Well-behaved dogs are allowed inside. The business trades mornings into early afternoon, in keeping with the rhythm of a village high street rather than an evening venue. It sits within Kilbarchan's conservation area, a former weaving village whose historic core now supports a small cluster of independent shops and cafés, of which Bobbins' cards-and-crafts counter is one.
