Wight Knuckle Brewery is a microbrewery based at New Farm on the Nunwell Estate, near Brading. George Bristow and his sons Edward and Fergus founded the business in 2021 after concluding, over a Boxing Day conversation, that the Island lacked a proper pale ale producer; the Bristow family has lived on the Isle of Wight for around 200 years. Brewing began at the back of the Pilot Boat Inn in Bembridge, which the family still runs as the brewery's taproom, before production moved to purpose-built premises at Nunwell as demand grew, funded partly through an Isle of Wight Lottery loan. The brewery makes unfined, unfiltered, unpasteurised beers from British ingredients, and its entire core range is vegan. Its Pale Ale won a gold award in the Society of Independent Brewers' 2023 South East England Independent Beer Awards. Visitors can sample the core and seasonal beers at the Pilot Boat Inn taproom in Bembridge, or find bottles and cans stocked in shops and pubs around the Island.
