Wood End Chippy trades from Hillmorton Road in the Wood End area of Coventry, a shop taken on by husband-and-wife team Parmy and Kam Thandi in June 2022. The couple found the business run down when they took over and spent the following months rebuilding its trade, working long days to restore a shop that had fallen out of favour locally. Their turnaround was recognised with a nomination at the English Business Awards. Alongside the counter trade in fried fish and chips, the Thandis have built a reputation for community support, donating meals to Loxley Court care home and giving away sixty free meals to those in need when their son Aman turned sixteen. The shop serves the Wood End estate and surrounding streets with a straightforward takeaway menu of fish, chips and other fried fare. It trades through the week with shorter hours than many chippies, closing on Sundays, and remains independently owned by the Thandi family.
