Wynyard Hall's walled gardens were laid out in 1822 and left to decline for much of the twentieth century until Sir John Hall began restoring them in 1987. The old kitchen garden now houses a farm shop and café run by the estate. The shop stocks estate-grown vegetables, meat, bread, cheese, wine and gin, alongside pantry staples bought from suppliers within thirty-five miles, and a small range of homeware gifts. The café serves slow-roasted coffee, home-made cakes, sandwiches and seasonal salads made with produce from the kitchen garden, with seating indoors and on a garden patio. No ticket is needed to visit the shop and café, though a separate pass covers the wider ornamental gardens and arboretum. The site is fully accessible, with disabled parking and toilets, and opens every day of the week.
