Jemma Hickman, founder of the London gallery bo.lee, and Alice Workman, formerly a senior director at Hauser & Wirth Somerset, opened this permanent gallery in a former Methodist chapel on Bruton's West End in May 2023. Bindloss Dawes, a Bruton-based architecture practice, remodelled the nave, keeping its high ceilings and tall windows to give paintings and sculpture an open, well-lit space to hang. The programme favours early- and mid-career artists over established names, with exhibitions changing every six to eight weeks. Hickman and Workman split curatorial duties between them and deal directly with collectors rather than through intermediaries. The building still has traces of its former life as a chapel, including the original pews repurposed as gallery seating. Entry is free and the gallery is open Wednesday to Sunday.
