Canoe2 has hired boats on the River Nene since 2010 and is based at The Boathouse on the boardwalk at Rushden Lakes. Run by Richard, Ian and their team, it offers canoe, kayak, stand-up paddleboard, pedalo and Katakanu hire, along with paddleboard tuition for those starting out. Beyond short lake sessions, the operation arranges longer point-to-point river trips downstream, with camping and multi-day short breaks that use the Nene's locks and meadows as a route rather than a backdrop. Craft are supplied with buoyancy aids and basic instruction, and staff will launch customers' own inflatable boats. There is also a meeting room for hire on site. This is an independently owned outdoor business rather than a club or council facility, giving casual visitors and families a straightforward way onto the water. Booking ahead is recommended in summer.
