Cranborne Garden Centre occupies the walled former kitchen garden of Cranborne Manor, the Cecil family's house at the centre of the village. The centre has specialised in old-fashioned and modern roses for more than thirty years, alongside shrubs, trees, climbers and herbaceous plants, and stocks gardenalia and stoneware in its adjoining gift shop. A cafe serves breakfast, lunch and cream teas using local produce, with a veranda and cafe garden where dogs are welcome. A door at the end of the walled garden leads through to Cranborne Manor Garden itself, laid out between 1608 and 1612 and open to the public on Wednesdays from March to October. The centre is a single, independently run site rather than part of a garden centre chain.
