Domu is a small vegetarian and vegan cafe on Bangor High Street, run by two owners with a shared interest in coffee, food, and music. One of them, Sveta, bakes cakes using methods learned from her grandmother, or 'babooshka', forty years ago, giving the counter an Eastern European character alongside British cafe staples. The kitchen also makes its own bread, soups, and stews on site each day from unprocessed ingredients. The coffee is a single-estate blend developed and roasted on the premises to the owners' own specification, and is not sold elsewhere. Domu is open Tuesday to Saturday, from around 10am until mid-afternoon, extending later when busy. The name means 'home' in Czech. The cafe trades from this single high-street unit only, with no other branches.
