The Ian Walton Gallery, also signed Oriel Beaumaris, occupies a small unit at 20A Church Street, directly opposite the parish church of St Nicholas and St Mary. It is both the working studio and the selling space of Ian Walton, a North Wales seascape and landscape painter, so visitors often find canvases in progress on the easel alongside finished work. He shows original oils and limited-edition prints drawn mainly from the Anglesey coast, the Menai Strait and the mountains of Eryri, and takes commissions. Walton, who relocated the gallery to Beaumaris from Cheshire, also runs painting tuition and small workshops from the premises. The gallery keeps roughly 11am to 4pm hours through the main season, with quieter winter opening. Beaumaris itself sits within the UNESCO World Heritage listing for Edward I's castle, a few minutes' walk down the street.
