The Galloway Activity Centre sits on the eastern shore of Loch Ken at Parton, about ten miles north of Castle Douglas on the A713. It runs RYA-recognised courses in dinghy sailing, windsurfing, and powerboating, alongside kayak, canoe, and paddleboard tuition, taster sessions, and instructor training. Land-based activities include mountain biking, archery, climbing, and high ropes. Accommodation on site ranges from yurts and glamping domes to bothies, cabins, and a bunkhouse, with a waterfront café serving visitors and residents. Courses run with qualified instructors, and equipment hire is available for those without their own gear. Activities require pre-booking rather than casual drop-in. The centre operates as a single independent site on the loch shore, not part of a wider outdoor-activity chain.
