Claudio and Florence Capriglione opened Claudio's on Burnside Road in Moffat in 1996, and the Italian restaurant remains a family operation run today by their children Davide and Claudia. Davide manages the front of house while Claudia cooks in the kitchen, following the same recipes her father used when the restaurant first opened. The menu keeps to homemade Italian staples such as lasagne, spaghetti bolognese, bruschetta and pizza, paired with a wine list chosen to match the rustic style of the cooking. Locally grown produce is used wherever the kitchen can source it, in keeping with the small family run ethos the Capriglione name has held since the restaurant opened. It remains one of Moffat's few sit-down Italian kitchens outside the high street's cafes and hotel dining rooms.
