Georgian Hotel,Pontcanna

The Georgian Hotel occupies a restored Victorian townhouse on Cathedral Road, on the Pontcanna stretch of a street lined with similar tall, bay-fronted houses converted into guest accommodation. Run by hosts named Giorgio and Marian, it is smaller than many of its neighbours, with a limited number of rooms and a quieter atmosphere than the larger hotels further along the road. Original period features have been retained through the conversion, including high ceilings and sash windows typical of the street's Victorian terraces. Its position gives easy walking access to Sophia Gardens, the Principality Stadium precinct and the restaurants of Pontcanna Street, without the traffic of the city centre hotels. Rooms are booked directly with the hotel rather than through a wider group booking system.
