Gonzo

Gonzo began trading as Beer Gonzo in 2010, an off-licence opened in the space once occupied by a bar called Inspire that had run on Earlsdon Street for over twenty years beforehand. The shop has since grown into a combined bottle shop, taproom and delicatessen, stocking more than 850 beers sourced from the UK, Belgium, the United States, Denmark and Germany. Sixteen keg and key-keg lines dispense beer and cider at the rear taproom, which has stylish, uncluttered seating and a small outdoor patio. The middle of the shop holds a deli counter selling snacks and fresh bread alongside the drinks. Meet-the-brewer evenings and tasting events run regularly rather than as occasional promotions. The business rebranded from Beer Gonzo to simply Gonzo to reflect that food now sits alongside the beer and wine on offer.
