The Broomfield Tavern is a Victorian free house on Broomfield Place in Spon End, close to Coventry's rugby ground. Ange Cherry took on the pub in 2011 and, with her partner Graham Venables, bought it outright a few years later, trading through their own company, Cherry Taverns (Coventry) Ltd, rather than as part of any pub group. The bar keeps eight changing cask ales, some served straight from oak casks, alongside up to eighteen real ciders in the chiller. Local CAMRA members named it Cider Pub of the Year for 2025, and it has previously held branch Pub of the Year and regional cider recognitions. A reopened back room added extra drinking space to the original layout, and live folk and mountain music plays on Monday and Thursday evenings, with other live music on Fridays. A real fire and a dog-friendly garden complete the pub, which opens seven days a week, from midday at weekends and 4pm on weekdays.
