Gowanlea Guest House is a privately owned four-bedroom guest house on Drymen Road in Balloch, run by John and Andrea Hughes. All four rooms, two doubles and two family rooms, are en-suite, with tea and coffee facilities, free Wi-Fi and off-road parking. VisitScotland grades it four stars. The house stands a short walk from the shore of Loch Lomond and Balloch Castle Country Park, with Balloch village, the railway station and cruise pontoons nearby; Glasgow and its airport are around twenty to thirty minutes south by road. Breakfast is served to guests each morning. Balloch is the southern gateway to the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park and lies close to routes toward the West Highland Way, which makes the guest house a common base for walkers and visitors touring the loch.
